im a 14 year old lesbian. Im not suicidal but i want to call the trevor life line to get advice on coming out because I'm scared. but I'm scared my parents could see that I called, but I'm really afraid that they could trace my call and send someone to my house. and am I allowed to call even if I'm not suicidal? i know this sounds silly but I'm kinda worried.

Hi Friend,
I’m sorry to hear about you being afraid to come out to your parents. This can be a scary thing, and it makes sense that you’re uncertain how to proceed.
The Trevor lifeline is an excellent resource for young LGBT individuals that offer support for suicide and crises. It doesn’t sound like this is what you’re struggling with, but you still have some great options with the Trevor site. They also offer Trevor Text, Chat, and Space. With Trevor Text and Chat options, you can connect with a professional over chat or text and get help with life. These are confidential and secure conversations, and you can be rest assured that they will not trace your call or send someone to your house. With Trevor Space, you can connect with other LGBT young people in a supportive atmosphere.
If you do not have your own cellphone or your parents monitor your calls, I recommend checking out their Trevor Chat! They’ll be able to help provide advice for whatever it is your facing, such as coming out to your parents. It is also safe and confidential, and it would be no different than sending us your lovely message.
I’ll leave you the link to the Trevor Chat option below:

Wishing you the best,
